contextual reference line
Reference lines are a powerful graphic feature for comparing values to a benchmark. The line could be the average or median of the items displayed on a chart. In Excel, you can configure this reference line to be interactive with pivot table slicers and this simple interactivity can enrich the visualization at hand by providing context and perspective into what’s displayed. Let’s learn how can it be implemented in Excel.
